I have been working in Fashion Recruitment for 8 years but before I fell into recruitment, I really struggled to find out information on the industry and what roles there were or head offices were around me. I didn’t have any guidance on CV or interview tips but through my recruitment experience and interview successes & failures, I’ve been able to learn all the information that I wish I had access to before. With this website, I hope to give out that invaluable information out to students, graduates, career professionals that are eager to know the ins and outs of the industry and how to get a job in fashion.

How to get a job in Fashion?

1. Have you got a LinkedIn Profile? – Networking is key in any industry but I’ve really seen it develop over the years in Fashion and people have managed to get their name out there so much more (me included!) through LinkedIn either through posting regularly, sharing updates or connecting with people in the industry.

2. Have you got a CV relevant for the fashion role you want? – You should have a tailored CV relevant for the role in fashion you’re applying for. You may have to be wary of Applicant Tracking Systems when applying on brands websites with your fashion CV. I have a Fashion CV Builder service on my website that will help with this.

3. Are you prepared for an interview with a fashion brand? – The industry is so competitive that the opportunity you get in front of a fashion brand will be your chance to stand out amongst the crowd. I have a Fashion Interview preparation service on my website that will help in giving you the best tips when going for an interview with a fashion brand.

4. Do you do any extra research/reading on Drapers, Retail Week or even looking at social media platforms such as Instagram, Youtube, Linkedin or Tik Tok? – I love learning more about the industry and I believe it helps me in daily conversations with people that work in Fashion. I find that platforms such as Drapers or LinkedIn allow me to learn about what’s going on with other brands around the UK and the world so I have great industry knowledge. Instagram often allows me to find new and upcoming brands in the world of fashion.
